You know those great thick Western saddle pads that are wonderful to use but a pain to wash? Instead of taking them down to the car wash to clean with the power sprayer every few weeks, just use a Navajo blanket underneath.

Navajos are way less expensive than those thick pads, so you can buy a bunch and just switch them out when they get dirty. And they're thin, so they fit easily into any washing machine.
