Super Natural Horses
The People
Anna-Marie Krahn and Celena Delaney, two sisters living in Kamloops, B.C. (Canada) teamed up to launch Super Natural Horses in 2009.
Celena Delaney
Celena is the natural horsewoman. She's been thoroughly immersed in the world of horses since she was young. In 2005, she discovered natural horsemanship and has been playing with it ever since.
Celena does the graphic design and a lot of the writing for Super Natural Horses, and is busy trying to get the word out about the website. The business skills she learned while studying equine business at Olds College have been valuable while working to create a viable website.
Anna-Marie Krahn
Anna-Marie has done all the programming behind the website, and has been enjoying learning about the world of natural horsemanship in the process. A professional photographer, she has also taken some of the photos you can see on the site.
She hasn’t done a lot of riding, but Celena is hoping to change that.
Working from Home
It all started in the spring of 2009. Celena was on maternity leave, and Anna-Marie was helping to look after her baby, Ben. Anna-Marie had just returned from one of her adventures—a walk across France and Spain on the Camino de Santiago—and was looking for a job to fund her next adventures.
At the same time, Celena, who doesn’t understand why you would walk when you could ride, was trying to come up with ways that she could work from home in order to spend more time with her little guy and, of course, her horses.
The sisters came up with the idea for Super Natural Horses, and the rest is history!
Many of our business meetings take place while bathing Celena’s little boy, but hey, it’s all good as long as we don’t splash water on the laptop! We are excited about all the connections that have been and will continue to be made over SNH—there are so many exciting natural horsemen and women out there to learn from, and so many ground-breaking new ideas to play with.
