Well, I like the term but some of the things we ask our horses to do aren't exactly "natural" for them, such as wear a saddle/bridle, carry a rider, learn to control their fear, travel collected, walk over tarps. etc.

I tend to think that "natural" in this sense refers to how we handle them - using their own psychology to communicate with them. Us interacting with horses probably wouldn't happen much in nature!
